Jeff Brohm is a good hire by Purdue. He’s a quarterback-oriented coach at a school with a proud quarterback history, including Super Bowl winners Drew Brees, Bob Griese and Len Dawson—although the emphasis there is on history these days.

Brohm, 45, comes from the Bobby Petrino coaching family, which is a good thing from a strictly coaching standpoint.

He received a reported $20 million, six-year deal from Purdue, which also is spending $60 million on facilities upgrades.

In other words, it’s a good thing to be receiving massive television-revenue checks from the Big Ten.
