(A second look at the week that was in college football)

So now who’s No. 2 – and 3 and 4?

Oklahoma made a pretty strong case for taking over the No. 2 spot behind Alabama with its convincing 31-16 victory at then-No. 2 Ohio State. No reason the Sooners shouldn’t leapfrog Clemson – even after its defensive lockdown of Auburn – and Penn State jump from No. 5 last week to No. 2 this week. Louisiana Tech faced a second down and goal at the Mississippi State 7 yard line when an errant shot gun snap sailed downfield and started a mad scramble. Five different players either kicked the ball further down the field or advanced it backwards so by failing to scoop it before Louisiana Tech finally recovered at its own 6 yard line – 87 yards later.

Louisiana Tech failed to convert the third and 93. The rest of this article is available to subscribers only – to become a subscriber click here.
