What’s not to like about a Wisconsin program that has piled up 34 wins under the reign of Paul Chryst? There should be many more to come. Returning are 10 starters from the team which rolled past Miami in the Orange Bowl last season. Leading the way will be tailback Jonathan Taylor, who ran for 1,977 yards and scored 13 touchdowns as a freshman. Can you say Heisman front runner?
The Badgers have senior leadership in QB Alex Hornibrook and a reliable target in WR Quintez Cephus.
The danger is on the other side of the ball, where eight starters must be replaced. Then there is the schedule: at Michigan, at Penn State.
The Badgers are good enough to win the Big Ten West–again. They are good enough to get a Final Four berth, but the feeling here is they will stumble once and maybe twice in the regular season–at Iowa on Sept. 27, Nebraska, at Michigan is a dangerous stretch. But they should be a Top 10 team.
