Remember back in 2008, when the New York Giants despicably despoiled New England’s perfect season with a stunning upset in Super Bowl XLII? Unless, that is, you despised the Evil Empire coached by that grump in the hoodie.

Well, that was sort of how Rankman & Son felt last week as we stood 5-0 ATS needing only Cal at Arizona to go “Over” 57 points to cap a 6-0 weekend against Las Vegas. Everyone knows “Pac 12 After Dark” games are most normally high-scoring affairs, with replay booth officiating calls so suspicious they could, until Thursday, be overturned, via phone, by a Pac 12 lawyer named “Woodie” in the home office.

Well, as late-night fate had it, Cal and Arizona only limped to 41 total points, leaving R&Son a very fine 5-1 showing in what is shaping up as a fine season. Last week Dad was 3-0 to Son’s 2-1 mark.

Rankman & Son are 21-13-2 for the season, ATS, with Son boasting an ungodly 12-4-2 record. We know in this business you need to stay humble so we will not foolishly prod the gambling gods.

This week’s slate:

Father Knows Bets

Hawaii at Brigham Young (-11)

New Mexico State at Louisiana (-7)

Washington at Oregon (57.5)

Son’s Games

Central Florida (-4.5) at Memphis

Colorado at USC (-7)

Miami at Virginia (47.5)
